Working For Residences

Looking for a part-time position in Residences? We have a number of opportunities, both during the school year and the summer months:

Front Desk staff - we offer a range of shifts during the school year and the summer months for students who wish to work at one of our five front desks. Application forms and job descriptions for these positions are available online by clicking HERE

Student Staff - Residence Dons and Facilitators are an important part of our Residence Life team. Applications for Don positions are available from the Residence Life office (main level, Victoria Hall) beginning in November and are due by December 4, 2009.  Learn more about the Residence Don position and application process by attending one of our two information sessions: November 19th from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. or November 24th from 7 - 8 p.m, both at Stauffer Library Rm. 121.  Click here for Application and Reference Forms

Peer Judicial Board - If you are dynamic, enthusiastic, hard working and want to make an difference to the residence community, consider a position on the Peer Judicial Board. Students  on the board deliberate on matters concerning community standards, and make decisions on violations. The positions offer a range of personal and professional development opportunities, as well as a great way to add to your resume. Members-at-Large - volunteer members of the Peer Judicial Board who help to uphold Residence Community Standards at informal hearings. 
Chair  -   responsible for mediating and ensuring that standard procedures are followed during hearings.  Remuneration for this position is provided.  Look for our online application form in 2010.
Appeals Coordinator -  responsible for chairing the Appeals Committee which meets throughout the year, reviewing appeal requests and notifying students of the outcome.   Remuneration for this position is provided. Look for our online application form in 2010.

Facilities Staff - The Facilities Control Centre hires housekeeping staff to work in residences during the summer months. Applications are available at the Facilities Control Centre (lower level, Victoria Hall) or HERE.

Event Services Staff - Queen's Event Services hires students throughout the year to provide support for on-campus events and accommodations. If you're interested in applying, submit your resume to the Event Services office across from the Front Desk in Victoria Hall.
